The competition for $200.00 in cash starts tonight at 8:30pm at Sauced Pizza! $200.00 will be awarded to the team with the highest number of points at the end of September! (And in case you haven't attended before, we give away lots of goodies to round winners and a gift certificate each week to the overall winner!)

Enjoy $2.00 Bud Lights, $4.00 wells, and half-priced orders of wings each week at trivia - alongside your favorite slices and other fan-favorite menu items.

Monopoly Text Message Scavenger Hunt this Weekend!

It's like a bar crawl, but with cash and gift certificate prizes (that will not be printed on blue, pink, green, and yellow paper that your local watering hole will not accept)!

MONOPOLY TEXT MESSAGE SCAVENGER HUNT

WHEN:
Saturday May 22, 2010 - 12pm start. Hunt plus post-hunt party! (Registration fee includes 2 free pints and light appetizers at the party.)

WHAT:
A wacky text messaging Scavenger Hunt with a Monopoly Theme that takes teams of 4 people through 8 Downtown Raleigh districts, visting bars, restaunts, and various points of interest to find clues, answer challenges, and demonstrate your team's ability to Monopolize Downtown Raleigh.

WHERE:
Travel through Glenwood South (including Sauced Pizza), the Warehouse district, the Historic Depot, Fayetteville Street, and four more Downtown Raleigh districts to collect the "Property Deed" cards for 22 properties, four railroads, and two utilities. You'll also draw Community Chest and Chance cards as you go, and take care not to land in Jail, get sentenced to Do Not Pass Go, or gasp... select a ticket of Do Not Collect $200!

THE OBJECT:
The team that collects all 22 Proprty Deed cards, while also finishing with the most money is the winner. Money is won for earning property deed cards, Chance & Community Chest, passing Go, completing team challenges, photo challenges, etc. Money is lost through Chance & Community Chest, incorrect answers, landing on property with houses or hotels on it, etc.

THE GAME:
Teams gather at the designated starting point where, at 12 noon, teams will receive their first clue via text message. Teams answer clues and proceed to the "property" indicated in the follow-up text message.

Upon arrival, teams will have to perform tasks to earn their property deed card. Most stops will require the team to buy (1) beverage per team to complete the challenge and earn the deed card. Earning your property deed cards increases your team's net worth by the value of that property and also gives you the next clue to solve to get to your next stop.

Teams not completing all the above before the hunt end time will receive text notification that the hunt has ended and where to proceed for the wrap party. Most all teams will finish before the cutoff, but if you lollygag or get thrown in jail too much, you may not make it!

WINNING THE GAME:
First Prize - $700 ($200 cash & $500 in Gift Certificates)
Second Prize - $350 ($150 cash & $200 in Gift Certificates)
Third Prize - $200 ($100 cash & $100 in Gift Certificates)
Best Team Costumes - $100 ($100 in Gift Certificates)

COST:
Just $20/person if you register by the WED 5/19, 5pm deadline. 2 FREE Pints Included !

We are so excited to have Brittany’s Battle, Inc. at Sauced Pizza today! Below are the specials for the day, but the entire menu (http://saucedpizza.com/menu.html) will also be available, too. A minimum of 10% of all sales from the day will go toward Jay Butler’s hospital bills as he takes on the battle against cancer.

You may recognize Jay’s name if you’ve been in the Triangle for a while! Jay was one of our favorite local country music radio DJs at 94.7 WQDR. If you’ve tuned in anytime in the last few months, you’ve probably heard about some of the great events they’ve put on to help him get through this battle. We are happy to contribute – one slice at a time!

Sauced Pizza is located at 410 Glenwood South, Suite 350 (facing North Street). Parking is available in front of the restaurant for free between Glenwood and West Streets. If the lot is full, there is ample parking on Glenwood, West, and North streets that is also free!

In these lean economic times, Santa is having trouble making ends meet with his regular job. So, he is looking to pick up some extra work. Unfortunately, it’s competitive out there and no one is hiring jolly men in red suits. Santa needs business attire to help him find a second job.

Clothing Drive
Well, actually we will be helping Step Up Ministries, an organization that mentors people who have fallen on bad times by helping their applicants find homes and employment. Many of the people they help are in desperate need of a professional wardrobe. You can help by cleaning out your closet and donating clothing you might not wear or fit into anymore.

Additionally, we will be collecting donations for Dress for Success Triangle NC—an organization that professionally suits women referred through partner agencies and provides ongoing professional support and development to these women. Their biggest needs include black tights, dark trouser socks, closed-toe neutral shoes, neutral purses, and office-appropriate jewelry.

Sauced Pizza will be hosting our event with live music, food & drink specials, and door prizes. Admission is free with a clothing donation.

This Friday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Sauced Pizza is hosting a rehearsal dinner here at the restaurant -- and they're quite a big group!

But why are we sharing this on our blog?

Naturally, we want everyone to have a great experience at Sauced Pizza! And knowing ahead of time that our tables are going to be in high demand, we thought it would be a good idea to let everyone know that our patio will be wide open (if you're enjoying the fall temperatures!), and that we'll have a lot more availability after 8:15pm, but if you definitely want a table... give us a call first to check out the availability (and possibly, any wait).
